Ivan Pravilov
Ivan Pravilov ((ウクライナ語:Іван Правілов); January 1963 – February 10, 2012) was a Ukrainian ice hockey coach. Pravilov also trained a number of young players in the National Hockey League, including Dainius Zubrus and Andrei Zyuzin. He had coached a Ukrainian hockey school, Druzhba-78 before he moved to the USA in 2007.〔(Autopsy:Charged Ukrainian coach committed suicide ), Kyiv Post (23 February 2012)〕
== Criminal allegations and death ==
Pravilov was accused of fondling two 14-year-old Ukrainian players who he had invited to his home in Philadelphia. He was placed in a Federal Detention Center but was found to be unresponsive at around 3:00 am; by 3:45, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Evidence suggestsed that he had committed suicide.〔(Hockey coach charged with assaulting youths found dead in cell ), Philly.com (10 February 2012)〕 This was confirmed by the city medical examiner's office on 23 February 2012.〔
A former student of Druzhba-78 had claimed in January 2012 that Pravilov had physically abused members of Druzhba-78.〔(Former student:Ivan Pravilov used fists and hockey sticks to beat us ), NewsWorks (23 January 2012)〕 However, his convictions are yet to be proven.
